I note that in Martin Evenings LR2 book it states that you can select multiple images for adjustment at once ....How do i do this selection for multiple image adjustment...... I have tried and failed using survey mode command click high light several images....What am i missing ?

It's just Grid mode Rooeey. The other modes only apply changes to the most selected image. When you're in Grid view, cmd-click or shift-click to select multiple images and for as long as you're in Grid view, any changes you make will apply to all of them.

For simultaneous multiple image adjustements, you have to be in one of two modes:

1) Library Grid View with multiple images selected in the Grid, of course, you can only use the Quick Develop adjustments.
2) In Develop Module with multiple images selected in the filmstrip, enable AutoSync mode, and any changes made to the 'most selected' photo will be echoed in the remaining selected images. To enable AutoSync, make sure multiple images are selected in the filmstrip and hold down ctrl-cmd, the Sync... button lower right, will turn to AutoSync, click it. Don't forget to turn it off when done!

Edit: oops, simulposting with VB, again.

An additional caveat is that you need to be in Grid mode on the primary monitor. If you're in Loupe or Develop on the primary and Grid on the secondary, changes still apply to only the "most selected" image.
