I have not had a Mac since 1990 give or take. I'm a Windows Wizard (tm) since 1.0. As mentioned in other threads, its likely time soon to update my hardware and will likely wait until Windows 12. I understand Windows hardware. I know RAM and I have a good feel for GPU and what is needed and what is acceptable.
But Mac be a different animal now-a-days. I do have an iPhone and iPad which I like. A lot.
So, let's assume Macbook Pro M3 Pro in the sweetspot. What does Lightroom want to see for RAM? I can assume perhaps that "unified ram" means the GPU and CPU share ram and if so how could 18GB be enough? In Windows I would not consider less than 32GB for CPU and 8 MINIMUM for GPU. And I would shudder at the cost for the GPU for more than that. How does MAC handle RAM and assumming I buy this ONLY for LRc, Photoshop and other photography based utilities? What would you recommend?
What else might I wish to know?
