Lens metadata

I recently noted that the way lens metadata (in the library filter) are displayed has changed.

Previously my lenses were noted as '24.'-1'5.' mm', '7'.'-2''.' mm' and '3''.' mm'. This has now changed to 'EF24-1'5 mm f/4L IS USM', 'EF7'-2'' f/2.8L USM' etc..

Is this due to a new LR version I installed? And is it possible to change the old data into new (manually or automatically)?

Sounds more likely to be a difference in the way the camera records that metadata. Do the former come from one camera and the latter from another?

Thanks, that's it.. My 2'D shows it as '7'.'-2''.' mm' and my new 4'D as 'EF7'-2'' f/2.8L USM'.

The question that remains is, is it possible to change these data?

Not with Lightroom, but a third-party EXIF manipulator like exiftool can do it easily.
