Hi,

I have noticed that, on some occasions, if I pass an image to Photoshop for tweaking, when it comes back to Lightroom the lens has changed.

As an example, I took a photo of a Buzzard passed it to Photoshop from Lightroom and, in library mode, it gives the correct lens as FE 200 - 600 mm + 1.4X Teleconverter.

However, if I look at the data in Lens Correction it tells me the lens was Samsung Galaxy. Baffled.

I would have expected the Tiff, on returning to LrC, to have Lens Correction unchecked by default, on the basis that Lens Corrections are assumed to have been applied in LrC before sending the image to PS (thus the corrections have been "baked in" to the Tiff). But even if you then try to apply lens profile corrections to the Tiff in LrC you should expect to see the warning "Unable to locate a matching profile automatically" when using either "Default" or "Auto" in the "Setup" box. Yes, you can select "Custom" which will allow you to select from the (very limited) selection of profiles which are available for non-raw files, but I would doubt very much there would be an available profile for your actual lens used. Quite how the Samsung profile is being chosen is a mystery if you didn't manually select it yourself (maybe a preset was applied?).

Select both the original and the TIFF and do Metadata > Save Metadata To File and upload both to Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar. We can put them under the microsoft to see if the issue is with LR, with PS, or something else and perhaps file a bug report.
