It used to be that LRC would remember the paper profile one was using when you switched away from the Print module and then returned to do more printing. Now it forgets and you have to reselect the profile. Is there a way to fix this or is it a new bug? The problem was in version 15.4 also and I had hoped that they had fixed it.

I thought I had, but maybe using a "comment" to Adobe was not the right way. Now I have reported the bug through the forum. Thanks for the idea.

I use Epson P800 with Win 11.

It is my intention to test this scenario... hopefully in the next week or so.. Hopefully this weekend. I will post my findings here.

In my opinion, handling of driver settings (for Mac and Windows) is long overdue a massive overhaul within the LrC Print Module... perhaps appropriate as Intel Mac aspects are soon to be totally out of support.

Looking at the absence of a print module in Lightroom Desktop, there may never be an update to the print module, book, slideshow or web module. The only one of these that I might miss is the print module.

Which will push me towards non Adobe based solutions. So be it. I have licences for 3rd party image editing tools... it just means at some stage Adobe do not get ongoing revenue from me.

What you note may come true... if so it will damage my view of Adobe as a supplier.

I look at Lightroom Desktop as the future of Lightroom Classic. I believe that at some point there will be one app for the desktop. With it you will be able to sync to the Cloud either full size or Smart Previews, Maintain a local XMP file without a catalog or maintain a classic catalog. Like LrD, you would use third party for printing, book slideshow and web. I don't see this as a negative on Adobe.
I may be wrong, but if I were the developer in charge, it would be more efficient to maintain one team for both cloud and local rather than two.

I am printing to an Epson P900. The prints come out just fine. It is not that the details of the printer setup that get changed or forgotten. Only that in the right panel of the Print module itself, the space for the paper profile gets forgotten if I switch away from the Print module and then return a few minutes later to print a different image. I would think that the memory of which paper profile I had used was under LrC's control, not the printer driver.

I'm not seeing that here. LrC V 15.5 Win 11. Epson P800 with recent driver reinstall.

I was able to complete the testing and my findings are in the attached pdf.

A one line summary of my findings is that "I could not recreate the problem you experienced".

I will respond to any queries on this ... and will try suggested extra test scenarios not covered in my Pdf.
