Keywords Going In Only on One Photo

I highlight a group of photos and enter keywords but they only apply to the first photo in the highlighted group.

What gives, please? ???

It sounds like you are selecting them in the filmstrip,You need to be in the Library/Grid view.

Geoff's right, that's the most common reason, and just to be clear, that's the grid on the primary display. If you have the grid on the secondary monitor, that won't work either.

If you have a similar problem with other metadata, besides keywords, verify the setting for Library module Menu > Metadata > Show Metadata for Target Photo Only, that should be off for working with multiply selected images. (but it doesn't affect keywords).

Just to be clear -- it doesn't matter where you select. It only matters what view you're in when you make the change. (I realize it was Geoff, not you, that introduced that wording; I just wanted to be sure we're all clear.)

Oh, I thought it should work via filmstrip select. I could have sworn I had done that before.

I don't understand what the view selection is or what view I'm in.

I'll try again: you need to be looking at the Grid view in the Library module in order for changes to apply to all selected photos. Press G from anywhere to get to the grid view. If you're in the Loupe view (one large image), the changes will apply to only the current photo, no matter how many are selected.

And if you're using multiple monitors, you have to be in Grid view on the primary monitor.

Oh, I know what you mean now by the grid view. It worked. I have some other strange things going on too though, but they're different so I'll post seperately.

Metadata > Show Metadata for Target Photo Only ? This should not be ticked. If it is, that may cause the problem.

I don't see an option for "Show Metadata for Target Photo Only" under Metadata. I see Metadata in right panel under library.

Oh, on menu, not panel. I see it. Not checked.

Keywords are working OK now.
