Keywords from sets not sticking

I created 4 keyword sets in Lightroom predetermined by our archivist. Now that all those sets are in place, they keywords won't stick on multiple images. For example if I see several images in thumbnail view that fit the "poverty" keyword, I'd like to hold down my apple key and select the ones I'd like to tag with that keyword and click. I thought "Great, easy presto!" But no. It only sticks to the first image I clicked. How do you apple select a large group of images and keyword them? Many Thanks. Miriam

First, for changes to apply to multiple selected images, you need to be in grid view on the primary monitor and "Show Metadata for Target Photo Only" in the Metadata menu needs to be unchecked.

With that out of the way, you can apply keywords in the Keywording panel on the right, or using the painter tool in the toolbar.
