I can find all images that have no keywords. And I can find images that have a specific Keyword. Is there a way to construct a filter that might show just the images that have only one non specified Keyword?

I tried to do this (find photos with "just" 2 specific keywords) but failed. The only way I could think of doing it was to set up a smart collection that finds the 2 keywords in question and then disregards all the others. The only way to do this would be set up a "does not contain" line for each and every other keyword. As I have many keywords I did not bother to try. If you only have a few keywords it would not take long to set up.

I hope others have found a way around this because it would be a very useful feature for me personally.

I forgot to add that the reason that I am doing this is my image files were first imported from the card via the Windows Import applet. This applet will add one keyword to the Import file. Some of those keywords are still valid, but could have other keywords added. Also , some imports contained two or more subjects and I chose the majority subject, now the minority subjects have the wrong keyword and need fixing. About half of my 23K images have been brought upto date with my hierarchical schema but that still leaves 11,''' images that need work.

Do my following tip can help you?...
Finding images containing only given keyword(s)
My search really is trying to get singlets. Not specific singlets. Your tip seems like it could get a result for specific singlets. However, I got confued on Step 7. In the keyword column, after step 5/6, I have the UNwanted keywords selected. If in Step 7 I now go back a select the wanted/target keywords I have just reselected the wanted/target keywords that I deselected in Step 5 resulting in every keyword being selected again. What am I missing?
[li]Empty the Quick Collection[/li]
[li]Under the Catalogue list left pane in Library, select "All Photos"[/li]
[li]In the Library's filters, select Metadata[/li]
[li]In the Keywords column, click the first keyword, go down to the last keyword and Shift-Click to select them ALL. Do not just click the first entry saying "All Keywords"![/li]
[li]In same column, deselect the wanted/target keyword(s) with Ctrl-Cmd-click[/li]
[li]Select all photos with Ctrl-Cmd-A[/li]
[li]Always in same filters column click the wanted/target keywords[/li]
[li]In menu, just select "Invert Selection![/li]
[li]Press B to send the selected ones to the Quick Collection[/li]
[li]Under the Catalogue list left pane in Library, select "Quick Collection"[/li]
[li]BINGO![/li]
Your use of the Library Filters did however give me an idea.
I created a custom filter on All Photos.
The Metadata Filter was created with 6 columns. Each column filters on Keyword. Since none of my images has more that 4 or 5 Keywords, 6 keyword columns seem adequate
The first keyword filter column produces all the keywords. Selecting one of these, will return all the keywords in images that contain the keyword in column 1. By selecting the same keyword in column 2 that was chosen in column 1, I exclude all the other keywords in column 2. If I repeat this for column 3, 4, 5 & 6 I eventually filter out images that contain other keywords until I am left with a column that contains inly my one keyword in column 1 If the keyword selected in column 1 is not a singlet in any image, I will resolve it to doublets or triplets in columns 2, 3, etc where the unmber of image for each keywrod is the same value.
It is tedious to apply this filter to each keyword in column 1 but it does get the job done in rooting out all singlets.

I shall admit that the tip is very confusing and that when I need it for myself, I keep a printed copy of the steps to avoid getting lost. I suggest you do the same so you will avoid being confused or miss a step... This happened to me too to restart at step one the first times. But this tip will really show you the images containing a given "singlet"; Altough, it will not filter on images containing any "singlet".

What can be done if your list of "singlets" is more or less limited is to use my tip and save as a filter for each. Then just add to collection after each filtering (B).

Yes its confusing and convoluted ..but after 3 attempts it does work. :)
Wouldn't a nice option in smart collections be better though.

CERTAINLY! But as it is not available yet, this is the only workaround I know of. Adobe is well aware about different weaknesses in Smart Collections and we may see some improvement in the future as they received many feature requests in this area... Lets hope ::)

Lets hope so. I think the smart collections are very useful as they are but the potential for greatness is there..
