Keyword organization plug-in/program?

Hi!

I have some 15'' keywords in a long list, which I want to organize into a hierarchy. However, doing that in LR2 has proven to be a real pain, with lots of fiddly scrolling and having to close keyword folders after moving over them while scrolling. It would be lovely with a plug-in that makes it easier, but I doubt it can be done at the moment. Barring that, has anyone made a standalone program that makes this process easier? If not, I may have to give making it a shot.

No plugin, because the SDK doesn't allow write access to keywords. Also hierarchical keywords are quite recent, and non-standard. So while you can save some effort using Excel, there's still a lot of work.

It's your call whether hierarchies are worth the effort...

[/quote]You can export the 15'' keywords into a tab delimited text file. Using a very plain text editor, you can re-organise them and arrange them in Heirarchies. Then re-import into LR.


There are several resources on the web that describe the process in detail and many free and not so free keyword lists.

Yes, I have looked at that, but when you do that, the photos are not updated to use the keywords in their new position. I was hoping for something that could update the photo-keyword link as well.

Glad somebody else found it fiddly as well. I put it down to mouse technique training.
