Has anyone else seen this situation. A keyword is applied to a image and it is stacked under another. The image in the top of the stack does not have this keyword assigned. If you try to select using the keyword list in the right hand panel, it will not find it. Also, using the library filter, using text and keywork cannot find.

These images will not show up under keyword search. This may be a rare situation, but it can and did happen, and should be fixed as a bug.

The bug report sheet is available in the top tool bar on this page. You can place one. Thanks.

Thanks, Geoff, I did report to Adobe.

Thank you Terry, it all helps in making LR a much better application from which we all benefit.;)

As a general rule, images in stacks are ignored because Lightroom assumes the top of the stack is the image you want to see and that the other images are only derivatives of it. Which is of course what would be considered normal stacking. Of course users stack HDR and Pano image as well, so it's a pretty strict definition of stacking.
Based on the fact that if you apply a keyword to a closed stack, it only applies to the top of the stack, I'm not surprised that it doesn't search the stack. I'd guess that this would come back 'As Designed'. However, users should have the choice, or have the working method plainly explained.
