Keyword hierarchy

Not sure if this is really bug, but it's bugging me...

I have my keywords arranged in LR in a fairly simple manner, usually with one parent category, such as:

Places>
Vietnam
England
Nepal....etc

My issues is that when I tag a photo with say, the Nepal keyword, when I look at the file in Bridge, it's tagged: Places, Nepal.

Is there any way to set the properties for a keyword "category" so as not to have it propagated?

I realize one workaround would be to use parent categories like Asia, Europe, Africa, etc, keywords which I don't mind "passing along", but I'm trying to keep top level structure as simple as possible.

Welcome to Lightroom Forums!

Right-click on Places, and choose "Edit Keyword Tag..." from the context menu. You'll see a checkbox for whether to include it on export.

You can also do this for the children, and configure them not to export their parent.
