My Keyboard commands no longer work in 2.1 (mac). None of them work even the common ones such as Print, New etc.
They worked fine in 2.'......
This is not a problem in any other program.

Thanks for any ideas,

Kit

I've deleted the plist. I even deleted lightroom 2.1 completely and reinstalled. I tried a different keyboard just in case and I still can't use the keyboard to control LR2.1.
I can't even go back to LR2.' because when I try to install it I get a message that ''a newer version of the software already exists'' even though I have deleted Lr2.1 and prefs, emptied the trash and rebooted.
I reported the problem to Adobe but they say they read everything but rarely respond to problems:evil:

You can go back to 2.' if you want to - it's just a case of finding the receipt package and removing it. It's usually Mac HD/Library/Receipts/Adobe Lightroom 2.pkg.

That said, it's a weird issue - personally I'd try reinstalling 2.', checking that it works correctly, and then renaming 2.' so that you can install 2.1 alongside, so you can easily switch back and forth. That should narrow it down a bit more.

Great idea Victoria. Unfortunately it didn't help. I WAS able to reinstall 2.' but now I can't even control that with the keyboard.

I'm going to run DiskWarrior and boot in safe mode and see if something pops up.

Cheers,

Kit

Hi all,

Running DiskWarrior fixed the problem. Strange that deleting all and reinstalling didn't but (so far) all is well.

Thanks,

Kit

Excellent !! fingers XXX:cheesy:

Well done Kit! Another one to be chalked up to 'general weirdness' I guess!

it's back

Sadly the problem of the non responsive keyboard has returned. I haven't tried running DW again yet, but that (if it works) is a poor and time consuming way to repair every 2 days.

I reran Diskwarrior but this time it didn't fix the problem. After much searching (I hope) I've finally fixed the problem. I use a Microsoft keyboard with my Mac Pro (what can I say- I like the keyboard) and in International preferences I had ''US Intl-Microsoft'' selected. Once I turned this off it fixed the problem (again, I hope).

Cheers,

Kit
