Just bought LR2. On XP x64 only installs 32bit version!

Think the title says it all. the text made it sound like the 64 bit version was available to XP x64 and Vista 64bit - doesn't seem to be!

Try looking harder.

Both installers are in the package.

The 64-bit is only officially supported on Vista 64-bit though, so be aware of that if you do install the 64-bit on XP.

Ah thanks for the info - I never spotted the setup64.exe, I just ran the Install Lightroom 2.exe - or maybe the extractor did this for me. Just installed the 64bit version and all looks good!
Can I remove the 32bit version now without screwing up the 64bit version?

Yep, it defaults to the 32 bit version.

I suspect there are files common to both that would be deleted. You'd be as well off uninstalling both and reinstalling the 64 bit version. Backup the new catalog first, just in case.

On Friday I installed Lr 2 on a new 64 bit workstation and had read the reports about having to start with the specific installer. I downloaded the update from the adobe site and simply launched it. I was watching closely and it automatically detected the 64 bit XP OS and I saw it installing from setup64.exe.

It would be cool to know how to check that it did install the right version just to make sure.

VB, I think the further question was:

"I think I installed 64-bit LR, how can I be sure that's what's actually running?"

I don't know how to tell, it doesn't come up in Help>About, or Help>Sysinfo. At least on my XP-32 system, it doesn't tell me which version I'm running, (perhaps because I really don't have a choice), and task manager just says 'lightroom.exe'

The Mac version, at least, says '64-bit' in the About dialog, but only when it's in 64-bit mode.
