Windows 10, latest LR, is there a way to improve the performance of navigating and exporting jpeg files? I can flip thru jpeg files on a normal windows file viewer without any lags, but in LR, even without any settings applied, it will take1-2 seconds. If I were to zoom in 100%, it may takes 5 seconds. Outside of LR, zoom in takes no time. So the problem is in how LR handles jpeg files. I tried optimzing the catalog, no help. There is a enable GPU setting for raw, but that doesnt apply for jpeg. Any help is appreciated.

One of the largest improvements is to have the original image locally. So, either set the Lr preferences to store originals locally and/or enable store smart previews locally. Another option is to selectively set some albums to store locally.

Note: Lr is a non-destructive editor; so after loading the image, it must then apply any updates or changes to it.

The OP is using Classic, so this is already happening.

@kenwood: What are your system specs? CPU, GPU, and memory? How many pixels are in your images? Where is your catalogue located?

Then the OP posted in the wrong forum. This is desktop app for Cloud based, and also missed the LrC vs Lr.

I changed a bunch of things and the navigation/zoom issue seems to have disappeared. Here is what I did, not sure which one(s) resolved it:

disable gpu under camera raw, purge camera raw/video cache under system, preferences
disable all plugins (only had 3)
disable all the address lookup/auto detect features under catalog settings
optimze catalog (size is only 50mb)
