Is there any way to enlarge the develop preview window?

Hi,

I was just wondering if there was any way to get the preview window (upper left hand corner) larger so that it's easier to see the results of the presets choices as you roll over them. It would be great if you could see the results on the image in the main window.

Can this be done?:?:

That's a very good question.

I also find it hard to preview presets properly and quite often I have to actually apply the preview to see the overall effect and then undo if I don't like it.

If we could see the preview on the loupe (?) view instead then hit an 'apply' button or something to apply the preset would be great:cheesy:

Make the left panel as wide as it can go. You can raise the maximum as well using Jeffrey Friedl's Lightroom Configuration Manager (or I can give you a shortcut if you're comfortable editing your TranslatedStrings.txt file).

Alternately, make a temporary crop to your image to see that part enlarged in the Navigator window, then reset the crop later.

another easy work around "ish"

If you have a spare button on your mouse, ie I use the scroll wheel button on my wacom mouse. i map the button to Ctrl/Cmd - Z, Undo.
Then you can just click the preset to apply it, see it full size, then click to remove it.

The only way I am aware if to do this, and to get a slightly larger preview image available, is to increase the width of the real estate for the left hand pane when in develop module.

I can also see the effects of the develop preset in the preview pane by hovering over the preset name. The preset is then 'applied' to the preview for the duration the mouse pointer is held over the preset.
