Is there a big switch to turn off AI in Photoshop?

I notice that some tools have setting about using AI or not but I was hoping there is a big switch that allows me to tell Photoshop not to use any AI which would cause it to add 'pixels' to add image that do not actually originate in the image?

Thank you for your help.

PS, I ticked Sequoia but this is not a particularly a Mac question

Not sure about Photoshop, but in camera raw preferences, there is in technology previews tab, you can uncheck new AI features and settings panel. I selected this only because I wanted to use the reflection removal function. There is a similar setting in Photoshop preferences, but there is no AI off switch. But I am sure someone else in the forum, will know better!

I don't think that Camera Raw setting will disable all generative AI, because the Technology Previews section is only for upcoming features. For example, it won’t disable existing Camera Raw features such as AI masks or the Generative AI option in the Remove tool.

In Photoshop, there is no overall switch for generative AI, however in some specific features such as its Remove tool, Photoshop may offer an option to not use generative AI. But that option applies only to that specific tool, not to all generative AI features in Photoshop.

The closest thing I can think of to a “big switch” in Photoshop is this: The first time you use a feature that uses Firefly generative AI, a message pops up asking you to agree to the Adobe Generative AI User Guidelines. If you never agree to the terms, that seems to prevent Firefly generative AI features from working. So if you don’t want to use generative AI in Photoshop, you can try always clicking Cancel when that message appears.

This is a common misunderstanding. There is AI and there is Generative AI. They are not the same thing. You can turn off (or simply not use) Generative AI. The other form of AI does not generate things that aren’t in the image already.
