Hello,
I am wondering if there is a function in lightroom that will allow viewing of the small jpg file when editing the full sized raw.
I have never used this function and never really saw the use unless this works. My G4 1.5ghz 1.5gram - is a little slow with my RAW files from my 12.5MP camera...especially in develop mode.
Is there a photoshop function where I could shoot raw+small jpg...then for speeds sake, lightroom would do the preview raw edits to the small jpg; then export all of those settings to the original RAW file. Seemed like this might be an option...
or else any other suggestions on speeding up the process....I don't think that my G4 is that out of date.

Lightroom will always have to render a preview at some stage.
I only really shoot Raw + Jpeg for shooting B&W previews and Infrared. I could simply extract the embedded preview, but it's not large on a Canon anyhow.

Applying a settings from a Jpeg edit won't necessarily look the same on the Raw. The Raw is flat, whereas the Jpeg generally will have settings applied already in camera.
