Is my video export frozen?

Does it normally take a while to export videos? If not, how do I know if there is a problem with exporting my video? It's just shy of 3 minutes long but it's been exporting for 10-15 minutes, I can't tell if the bar is moving or not. The program itself isn't' showing that it's crashed. I'm hesitant to close it though and mess something up.
