I have seen quite a few threads talking of slower performance than LR1 and unstable behaviour....so is it safe to upgrade or should I wait.

I have only been using LR1 for a little while and love it, but what really annoys me is the cumbersome way in which to export to Elements using a TIFF or PSD file. I only use sharpening and skin smoothing all of which can be done in LR2.

Look forward to your thoughts

I think it is. I have a database of about 8''' images and it seems to be working fine. I had a simple problem with some sidecar files but no big deal. It really is not that unstable. Maybe a llittle slow, but that will improve with time. The added capability is great. Just back up LR1 and then go for it.

I'm with Terry, the added features are definitely worth the potential hassles. I have about 95'' images committed to LR 2, up-converting more as I get the time.

While I wish the release had been a little smoother, it hasn't stopped me from changing over. My experience has been that while the program seems a little slower at times, my workflow actually seems to be moving a little faster, perhaps from the better workability of some features.
