When dragging one or more photos to a collection is it possible to automatically create a virtual copy?

What I would like: I have a collection "A" with photo X, I drag the photo to collection "B" and I want to hava VC in collection B.
What I currently do: in collection "A" I select X, make a VC, drag the VC to B, delete the VC from A.

It would just be nice to do everything as one operation.

It's not a function within Lr, no. I can't see how you could program this as an action either, but there's ones on the forum more knowledgeable than me on that. But natively in Lr, no.

The option does exist when you create a new collection. In the 'new collection' dialog you can add the currently selected images and also make virtual copies. AFAIK it does not exist for existing collections.

Thanks for the answer, at least I wasn't missing something (as I don't know how the code base looks like I can't say how easy or difficult it would be to implement it but detecting a modifier key isn't that hard and as Johan says the functionality kind of exists already ... but perhaps there is something that makes if difficult to actually implement)

Put in a feature request. Since the code to create a VC exist for new empty collections, it could reasonable be implemented for additional photos added to a VC only designated collection.

My workaround would be 1. Create a new collection and check the box to create vc’s. Then move that new collection to the old collection.
Or 2. Since vc’s reside in the folder where the actual images reside, select images to create vc’s from and then add the new vc’s to a previously created collection.
If these suggestions are elementary to you, sorry.
