I've actually had a related issue with exceeding the character limit in the paths for LR settings files. In Windows, the basic path of >Documents and Settings>Username>Application Data>Adobe>Lightroom>Web Galleries> already takes up a good chunk. I was a little too organized by using folders for each type of gallery (I like the ones from Lightroom Galleries and The Turning Gate), and one can quickly use up the rest of the character allotment (for example >The Turning Gate>TTG XML Shadowbox Autoindex 1.1>TTGXMLShadowboxAutoindex.lrwebengine>Resources>js>shadowbox-mootools.js). This is not meant to illustrate the particular culprit(s), but is just an example of another area where this little-known Windows limitation can come back and bite you. The obvious answer is to be less organized!
