in develop, new virtual copy not loaded

Not a major obstacle, but annoying. While in develop & I finish an image, I create a virtual copy of it. Sometimes LR loads an image 1- 2 up or down from the one I'm working on. I can pull up the film strip & find it, but it strikes me a curious occurence. Anything I can do to eliminate this? Thanks.

The behavior you describe happens when you enter the Develop module with multiple images selected. You see and work on the most selected or primary image. When you create the virtual copy LR deselects the image you are working on and selects the virtual copy in its place. If only one image is selected you don't notice that you've switched from the original to the virtual copy. However, when multiple images are selected, the deselection of that initial image cause LR to present you with another selected image. This happens before LR gets the chance to select the new virtual copy.

Try it again with only one image selected and you should see a difference.

Thanks for the info. I haven't had a chance to confirm it yet, but I often go to develop from comparing several images.
