In correct GPS information pulled from JPEG files

I have just started geotagging my images and am finding all sorts of weird problems with the way Lightroom handles the GPS data. I already mentioned the one about negative altitude. I have just found another...

I shoot raw+jpg and geotagged a bunch of images - note that they were from a dive and so longitude and latitude are the same for all the images. The latitude is -34.'7'55557 (S34°4'14.''") and the longitude is 151.15722222 (E151°9'26.''"). For some reason, Lightroom shows the latitude of the jpg files as 34º4'13" S. I have checked the EXIF on the file and it definitely has 34º4'14" S.

That one second difference in latitude is approximately '.'2 miles, or about a city block!

Andrew, while 35 yards isn't much of an error in the big picture, it's still a disconcerting problem in what should be a straightforward transfer of metadata.

I agree, there's some sort of bug there. The LR team needs all the sharp eyes it can find; I'd suggest reporting the bug, with the background details, here:

I tried to reproduce the problem with a set of images taken at a different location but in this case the JPG and NEF files show the correct latitude.

What is also weird is that if I select one of the JPG files which has a displayed latitude of 34º4'13" S and click the "Map Location" button, it opens up Google Maps with the pointer on 34º4'14" S.
