Importing raw Pentax files

I can import raw files from the HD w/o a problem.

From a backup DVD I can import them one at a time or I can copy them to the HD and import but I cannot import all of them from the DVD.

Any suggestions.

I'll try.

I put a DVD in the DVD drive. I can open it and see files of .PEF files taken with my Pentax IstD.

I go to Lightroom. Import photos from disk. Select all and Lightroom quickly responds with "can't read files". If I just select one photo it imports it without a problem.

If I copy the DVD to a hard drive, I can then select all of the photos and import them. I can do this but I'm curious as to what the problem might be.

If the files are on DVD and LR does not have access to the DVD that is what you will get, regardless of the kind of RAW, Tiff or Jpeg.

Copy your files to a folder first then import to lightroom it is far easier..
