Importing Keywords into Catalogue

Hi have just created new catalogue for 2''8 photos and noticed that keywords aren't exported from previous catalogue 2''7 photos.My question is what is the easiest way to import keywords from 2''7 catalogue into 2''8 without to much trouble. I have already created a few keywords in new catalogue will this cause a problem.

Library Menu/metadata Export Keywords in the 2''7 Catalog, then Import using second option in 2''8 Catalog.

Referring to another thread, here is one of the disadvantages of using multiple catalogues - before you know it, your keywords start diverging. Apart from the traditional differences like spellings and singular/plurals, in Lightroom you've the additional complexities of hierarchical structures and keyword synonyms. Another reason for avoiding multiple catalogues unless you absolutely need them....
