I have just started to import some catalogs from my Macbook pro, including the originals. All seems fine from the import dialog box where i select to import them into my main catalog and choose the location that i want to put the originals in. It then imports the originals into the location i have asked them to go to but has placed them within that folder in the heirachy that the originals were on the MacBook, ie. The main catalog has the following folder path, Computer/LR Pictures/Year(s)/Month(s).
I have the same paths on the laptop but when imported will go into say 2''9 which i select in the import box but will place the full macbook pro structure within the 2''9 folder leaving the main catalog like Computer/LR Pictures/2''9/MACBOOK/LR Pictures/2''9/September.....
This is a bit annoying as i then have to move the images into the correct folder and delete the extra folders. Am i doing something wrong?

How are you exporting from the MacBook Pro?

I'm connecting wirelessly to the macbook and then selecting the catalog to import directly from the catalog on the macbook. It then imports and copies the files across to the main computer but in the heirachy it was on the macbook but within the folder i selected in the import dialog

You could try doing an export from catalog and see if that helps - it's likely to change how the root path is stored, which may solve your problem.

I'll give it a go, but means more work than necessary as i'm using single catalogs on the macbook when on location and don't want to export catalog and files to another drive, only to import them and move them again into the main catalog.
