Imported folder does not show- Have to sync?

I'm using Lr 2.4 w/ Win Vista.
When i import a catalog it does not show at the bottom in my folder tree. I have to do a sync w/ the master folder before it will show. There are 25 folders in my master folder. Is there a limit on folders? Anyone else have this happen or know a fix?
I do a weekly relaunch and optimize routine.

Fixed it.
Somehow "add photos without moving" had been changed in the import dialog.
