Import: Template folders like Image Ingester

One thing that really makes me sad on LR is that I cannot create a folder template for ingestion, like in Image Ingester.

On my workflow, I don't use that method of dates as provided by the program, and because of that, I need to create folder by folder until I reach the place I wanted to put my pictures.

If I had such a thing it'd speed my ingestion process!

What everyone feels about it?

Image Ingester is a program to help you to ingest images to computer.

I used this program a lot before the release of Lightroom. After that, I've been using just LR.

And this issue I told is something I miss on LR, because it really helps on Image Ingester.

Instead of creating folder by folder, everytime you ingest a new job, you create a template and use it automatically.

I continue to use Image Ingester with LR. For my needs and workflow, it does a better job of renaming, backing up and converting files than LR. You may want to consider switching back to using in on the front end of your workflow.

I'm impressed with what I see on the ImageIngester website. I'd stick with using that tool for doing the initial ingesting and import into Lightroom after you have them in the folders the way you want them. I never use Lightroom to download my cards since I have a folder structure that I like and want to keep and it's not supported by the Lightroom options. I just create my new folder and copy the files outside lightroom at present, but I think ImageIngester is now on my shopping list. Unless Lightroom releases an update that provides for templates.

Lightroom does remember the last folder you imported files from using "choose files", which is helpful since my new folders are usually close to the last one I imported.
