Import Presets

Could someone guide me please. I have created an import preset to apply saturation of +15 to raw files from my EOS 5D.

The design panel shows that this has been applied but when viewing the images lightroom displays the images for a few seconds with what appears to be the increased saturation then the image saturation is displayed with less saturation (presumably the raw data...?).

What is the point in this? I want to see all the images I have imported with the import settings I have applied.....or am I misunderstanding something...?

Even better would be some way of importing the raw images with the in camera saturation settings that I have applied. In this case level +4. Is this possible?

Welcome to our Forum. I deleted your duplicate thread.

I suspect what is happening is that what you see at first is not your image with the preset applied, but as the JPEG rendering of you camera shows, and it is doing more than you preset.

Then LR renders its own preview with your preset and it happens that it is less stong than the camera JPEG rendering.

This is normal for the LR render not to be the same as the JPEG preview. IF you prefer how the JPEG looks try increasing the preset to match.

Thanks Don. That explains it and I should have been able to work that out as I knew that the LR preview was rendered as a jpeg of the raw data!
