I would like the "non" import preset to contain keywords, but I don't know how to accomplish that.

I once set up a bunch of import options, e.g. Destination and File Handling, which I was able to save, even without creating an import preset. However, I was not able to save keywords. (I did this setup several years ago, and I can't remember exactly what I did.) In my case, these keywords are for my workflow. I had to create an Import Preset containing these keywords.

The issue is that I sometimes forget to change the import preset from None to my preferred preset. Except for setting the keywords, I don't need this preset.

Is this a problem with a solution?

I use metadata presets to add my initial workflow keywords (and other stuff like copyright and maybe location data), which can be selected and applied during import.

Keywords can definitely be part of an import preset. I use that all the time.

Agreed that keywords can be part of an import preset. I also do that. However, I'm trying to do an import without selecting an import preset, since it's a "user error" for me that I forget to select that preset when I'm doing an import.

Right. Well, as you can’t make Lightroom ’remember’ the keywords you entered on your last import, you‘ll have to do the remembering.
Johan,

I have a poor memory. ("senior moments.") Seriously should I file a feature request with Adobe?

The answer will be that the feature already exists: create and use an import preset. It doesn’t make sense that Lightroom should remember the keywords you entered on the last import. Who says they will be the same for the new import? The destination of the imported images will probably be the same, a file rename template too, so for these settings it is logical that Lightroom remembers them. But keywords? Sometimes yes, often not.
