Hi all!
First post here, from a long-time forum lurker and LR evangelist (since v0.9). Thanks in retrospect and in advance for all the fruitful discussions on this forum!
My trouble this week has been with repeated efforts two merge two large catalogs — my old monster master catalog into a new monster master catalog on an external SSD, which I hope will simplify travel and LR Mobile syncing.
The import dialog has found and imported about half of the images from my old master catalog, across multiple internal HDs. But on repeated efforts (each of which take a long time to scan the catalog and search for duplicates), it has missed many folders, including several subfolders in one folder (from which other subfolders were found), and my most important (active) folder and subfolders on drive F. It seems that whole drive is not being found by the importer. Nothing wrong with the drive itself, of course, in Windowss or in my old LR catalog.
Has anyone encoutered this issue before, amd found a workaround?
I might try exporting a new catalog for the unfinadble images. But the extra step is a hassle. And more generally, my confidence in the import from catalog feature is eroded if it can make such a glaring omission.
Thanks so much!
