Import in Lightroom 3 - getting my settings from Lightroom 2

I just downloaded the beta version of lightroom 3 and I can't for the life of me remember how to bring my previous settings with the photos on the new import...Can someone fill me in?

I'll have to write your settings to XMP in LR2 (either automatically or manually with Ctrl-S), upon which they will be taken into account when importing in LR3 Beta 2. Bear in mind that you should work on a copy of the images and XMPs when using LR 3 Beta.
