Images overwriting/duplicated

Hi

I've been using LR for about 18 months and have never had a problem with it until now.
I uploaded about 5'' images from an event I photographed. LR shows I have uploaded 5'' images but a few of them have the ?. When I look in the location folder where all the images are kept, it shows only 375 images. Not sure why all the images didn't save in the same location.

Also, While looking at the images on LR library the previews are not in the order i've taken them and the images are changing/ being overwritten by other images taken from the same day

Have you ever moved images outside of Lightroom?
Did you changed the "Sort Order"?
Also, maybe time for upgrading to version 1.4 for free...
This may not solve your problem but there were so many inprovements from 1.1 to 1.3 and up!

Hi Joy and welcome to the forum - thank you for taking the time to fill in your signature.
Sounds like you have most of us baffled by the lack of response !!
1. First there seems to be issues with sorting, try sorting by file name and see if they sort correctly.
2. Are you using 1.1 really? You may wish to upgrade to the last before LR2.'. It can be done here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3891
3. Do you remember how many files were originally imported as LR will not overwrite any files unless you request it to. Can you post screen shots of your catalog/library panel and maybe of your HD finder window with the files and there location.
