Images distorted/out of focus !

Hi - not sure if im in the correct forum section but thought i would post this and maybe someone can help. when i import all my images from camera they look out of focus or not quite right! ive been using elements 5 for a long time so i compare the images against each other and if it wasnt for E5 i would be massively disappointed with my workflow! my images dont look clear at all in LR2! is there a reason for this? also, LR2 runs really slowly....is this part of the problem!? i have to say it puts me off using LR as i cant be bothered with the wait then the disappointment! sorry for moaning but its frustrating! lol. hope you can help me.
