Hi All,

I've got this problem that whenever I load RAW files (5D2) the images appear to be correctly exposed but once the image has fully loaded then it goes dark and the contrast goes way up etc.

Is there something that I need to do to stop this happening.

I've left Lightroom at its default settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to Develop and on the right hand side scroll to the bottom and play with the Camera Calibration Profiles. You may need to load some profiles, which there are many posts about that. But I had the same issues an it has to do with that area which I think is a little hidden given the effect it has on the shots when loaded into LR.

idene, Welcome to the forums. Are you just starting with Lightroom and raw? This is a very common question from new users. Start here: http://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/showthread.php?t=15'' for an explanation of the basic problem. Ask back for help with where to go next.

Edit: I see that Tony has already explained one of the places to go next :) .

I've been using lightroom to edit jpegs for a long time but once I upgraded my camera I decided it was the right time to go fully raw and I used to just put up with it.

until now of course.

Thanks for the link and advice.

I'm sure this website will be a very valuable source of help for me in the future and of course others.

Hi Brad

Thanks for the help on this.

Im pretty sure I remembered typing a message here and now its gone. Nevermind.

Cheers for your help too Tony. Much appreciate that.

I'm going to look at the camera calibration a bit more, I think thats where I've went wrong.
