I am running Lr version 9 on a PC with Win 10. Today I noticed that sometimes -- but not always -- a previously edited image would look different in the Library and Develop modules. Eventually I discovered that while in the Develop module, by right clicking on the image, going to the Metadata drop down and selecting 'Read Metadata from File,' the image displayed in the Develop module would match the image as displayed in the Library module. I have never run into this previously, and I have been using Lr since version 1. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this, and what I should to avoid / prevent this in the future?

Best,

David

Hi David. That would make me suspect the settings in the catalog are wrong, that perhaps the wrong catalog got opened perhaps with the upgrade, or that settings got synced across multiple photos. Keep an eye on the Develop settings before/after you do that Read Metadata from File and see if they change? Also look in the History panel and see what the last couple of History steps are?
