Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5
Operating System
  1. macOS 10.15 Catalina
All WAS going well here.

I have had Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 since 2013 - at the time my problems began the Catalogue contained
12,000+ photos. The majority of these were edited and exported to Pictures under appropriate file names.

I ALSO HAD: a few thousand photos in iMac Photos (mostly from using the iPad as a camera and from screenshots)

THEN
my iMac (late 2012) crashed and the local repair shop was not able to recover anything
a new operating system was needed and installed
I do have BackBlaze...great!
BUT
the local computer shop installed the restore and now all of the photos that were in Pictures are now in iMac Photos !
They are still in their designated files which are now ALBUMS
So now it shows 27,088 photos in iMac photos

Lightroom 5 was reinstalled and grabbed back all of the photos the Catalogue is A-OK

HOWEVER; what a mess over in iMac photos!
What can I do to correct this?
I am tempted to move everything from iMac Photos over to the cloud in Lightroom - which I now have a subscription for, as I plan to download all future photos into it.

I will most certainly appreciate your advice!
Thank you in advance
Marie

I have spent 3 weeks of full days trying to piece the puzzle back together and deleting duplicates. I have the majority of them deleted now. However I am still puzzled by the different libraries. Also unfortunately the quality has degraded and edits are sometimes there ... sometimes not. In all a disappointing event.
MY BIG CONCERN now is to make sense the three libraries as shown in attached photos
