How do I use a different identity plate for each image in a slideshow? I have a slideshow that has 1'-12 slides and I would like different test for each individual slide. So far I can only generate the same identity plate for all images in a slideshow.

There is no way to do that inside LR. You'd need to:
1) Export each image, one at a time, with a different Identity Plate (you can do this by saving each as a JPEG out of the Print module or by using something like Mogrify).
2) Add that folder of images back into LR and then
3) Play the slideshow (I know it isn't ideal - but probably your best solution if you HAVE to have different plates).

What are you adding with ID Plates that you can't use metadata like Title and Caption applied to each image in Library and then using the appropriate text token with the ABC add text to slide in the Toolbar?

How do you use the "text token"? I can get the text overlay box to show up, but it shows the words "default text content" in it. How do you select the desired field from the metadata to be displayed in the box?

[/quote]You click on the ABC, and then the drop down next to "Custom Text" represented by small upa nd down arrows. Choose Edit and apply Tokens as needed. This is the same as in other areas of LR.
See Screen Shots.
