Identity plate kills the image?

I am trying to design something to have my name on my photographs. I just downloaded the plugin that allows you to have an image instead.

Somehow I can't get a nice identity plate that doesn't affect the image too much. It's either too flashy or it doesn't blend in with some of my other photos (I need a identity plate that works on both black and white backgrounds)

Does anyone have some samples, or websites that has some nice and proper logos on their images?

What I really meant was my identity plate made my photos ugly.
