I have LR 1.4 and 2.' running side-by-side while I evaluate using 2 full time.

I rather enjoy 2.' but I can't print unfortunately, when I goto select my Profile for my printer all it shows is some random Brother profiles for my inkjet that are from:

/Library/Printers/Brother/Profiles/

This hardly seems right.

When I boot up 1.4 it shows all my Profiles just fine. What's up?

Is there a path I need to config somewhere?

If you select Other at the bottom of the Printer Profile popup you will have a chance to select other ICC profiles by checking them off in the list if they are installed. I am using LR2 and see existing and new profiles I make without a problem.

Unfortunately all the profiles I have listed don't show up in 2.', additionally it's showing profiles for my Brother MFC printer that don't show up in 1.4, seems the paths are off or something but there is no obvious place to set it.

Where are your profiles stored? Welcome to the forum!

What printer profiles are not showing up?

I helped someone with a similar issue recently. What I did was email him a few of the profiles that weren't displaying in LR2 for him and had him drop them in his profiles folder. He restarted Lightroom and lo and behold all the "missing" profiles were now showing in LR2. Go figure.

Epson paper profiles, Hahnemuhle paper profiles and Crane Museo paper profiles. None of them show up. It'd be nice if there were more functions for managing profiles so I could at least attempt to troubleshoot it.

Well, as I mentioned previously, I helped someone with this same exact issue in a rather last ditch effort, as we had tried everything else we could think of, but I needed to know which printer model so I could install the proper profile.

Here's what I did, I installed some of the profiles he was unable to see in LR2, zipped the profiles together from my machine, emailed them to him and had him manually remove his old ones and replace them with the new ones. He rebooted (not sure that was required) and strangely enough not only were the three profiles I sent him there but all the others he was missing had returned. Go figure since he had already tried re-installing his profiles.

I don't know if the problem was with the profiles or Lightroom, but I'll take an odd solution over a perplexing problem any day. :)

So, if you'd like we could try the same experiment. I just installed the 2 glossy profiles for the 22'', zipped them, and uploaded them here.

No promises, but perhaps lightening will strike twice. :)

I also do not have any profiles listed in LR2

I read this post, and am having the same problem. I have placed my profiles in all of the places suggested, but show no profiles at all unless I check monitor profiles, which of course does not help me. Any ideas? I need to print with custom profiles, so this is critical for my work. Using latest version of Leopard, and latest LR2. In LR 1.4, no problem with profiles showing up.
thanks

Unfortunately installing those new profiles didn't help jar Lightroom towards working, glad (unfortunately) someone else is having this problem too.

Strange problem.

I just went through a wpyder3print session to make a profile for my Canoni995'. I saved it , but lateron I changed the name from A.icm to B.icm.
Now LR is seeing the file by the OLD name (A.icm). If I remove the file it is lost end when I set ik back LR sees it, BUT the OLD name (A.icm)> Go figure.

Looks like LR is doing the filenameing on its own.

Those of you having this problem, if you are running Lightroom 2 in 64 bit mode try switching to 32, and if running 32 try switching to 64 just to see if there is a difference for you.

Well i am having the same problems. i tried to switch back to 32bit mode but no go. only showing about 4 profiles but showing in right spot. library/colorsync/profiles. aperture and lr 1.4 show them all. this is weird. hope someone figures this out. would like to print in lr 2.'

thanks

thanks for that. i will download it now and see what happens. trying to do some quick black and whites and it is a pain in aperture. need to send to cs3 and then back.

okay that didn't work. But i cut all profiles from libray/colorsync/profile. then restarted lightroom with nothing in there. now i can see all the printer profiles that epson installed. shut down lightroom and copied all the profiles back to orignal spot and restarted lightroom. all are there now. even my homemade ones. hope this helps someone else.

it would if it works for everyone. wish the people who had the problem would let us know if this works. but i think someone already mentioned something similar on the first page of this post. think that is were i got the idea.

thanks

Are you using 64Bit LR. Many ICC profiles do not work in 64bit.

Don

yes i am using 64 bit. someone else posted that we try to run 32 bit and see but the profiles didn't work that way either. so i switched back to 64 bit then i remember reading about deleting the profiles and then copying them back and that worked for me.

Worked for me

Sweet!!!! Just reiterating.... Killed LR2. Made a copy of /Library/ColorSync/Profiles called /Library/ColorSync/Profiles copy then deleted all the profiles from the original /Library/ColorSync/Profiles keeping the top level directory intact. Started LR2 and it saw all of the icc profiles on my computer. Copied the original profiles back into /Library/ColorSync/Profiles.
