I thought I would start here on this....
first off, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, on a custom built system, a Asus M2N MX SE-Plus mobo, AMD dual core processor, and a PNY 86'' GT PCI x16 card, dont really think the rest of the specs are much of a factor...
Okay, so i use several types of camera's, mainly a nikon d4' and a olympus e-5'', regardless of the camera i have the same issue, when i import ( no matter how i do it, from card, or if i transfer the card contents to my HD then import), about 3'% of my pictures have end of file errors, and as well, have horizontal lines of garbled pixels, usually rainbow coloured lines about 1 cm or more across the photo's, the end of file ones are usually half garbled, usually bottom half all being garbeled, or the picture looks like someone cut it into 4 peices, and moved the pieces around. At first i thought it was my olympus, then i tried the nikon, same issue, then i thought it was one of my cf or sd cards, nope. then i thought it was the card reader, works fine on my other 3 pc's, basically what i have to do is import, inspect each one, delete the crap, reimport the ones i lost, inspect, delete the crap, so on and so forth untill ALL are fine, i am totally at lost for what is the issue, the card reader works flawlessly on all other pc's, same as the cards, and the camera's. tried all my usb ports, including a hub i use all the time, still the same issue....
