I have standalone license with LR 6.3 When I open LR it says my trial has expired.

Hi egitelman, welcome to the forum!

Whereabouts are you seeing this message? There are two different trials involved with Lightroom that don't always coincide - one for the program itself and one for mobile sync.

License trial??

Hi
I have a LR 6, but for about 2 month ago I bought CC Ps and Lr.
At least 2-3 times a week I get "Lightroom Trial"
If I click "License This Software" it all works, but I am going on holiday next month with my laptop and no internet.
Why is this nescesary. I am paying my monthly fee to Adobe?
Do I really have to reinstall my LR 6 (no CC)?
Regards
Peter

On the standalone program

Sorry, let me clarify... in the Identity Plate section in the top left corner, or as a nag screen every time you open Lightroom?

It shouldn't be necessary. It sounds very confused. Is the CC app loaded in the background and signed in? And when LR asks about licensing the software, does Photoshop still work?

Hi
It is the original login screen I saw at first time installation of both the LR6 and LRCC.
I have the installation/problem both my desktop and my laptop.
When I see the login/trial I click on the license button and after a while it accept me. It is not nessesary to do more - It know my login data.
I see it on PhotoShop too if that is the first to be started.
After this first login I never see it any more that day for any of the programs.
My account at Adobe seems OK.
I understand that Adobe has a problem with piracy, but why must I suffer from it?
Regards
Peter

If you continue to have problems with it, report it at Official Feature Request/Bug Report Forum because the engineering team and support staff hang out there, and they'll know tricks for getting round licensing oddities like this.

Hopeless, no reaction on the family forum
It seem, that I must shift to standalone programs if i want to use Lr and Ps when not connected to internet.
CC is for office use only?
What can I do when travelling?
Nearly every day I have to signon to use either Lr og Ps.
My journey is coming soon.
Regards
Peter

Thanks
Thats the problem. It does not work.
As i wrote I must login nearly every day.
I suppose a login when it says that my trial is ended requires connection to Adobe?
Peter

It sounds as if you have done something wrong, perhaps when changing from Lr6 to LrCC. You don't have to click 'License' buttons when you are using CC. You install the CC app, log in using that app, and then install Lr and Photoshop from that app. After Lr and Photoshop are installed, you can use them in the normal way. You just need to be sure that the CC app is started automatically when you start the computer, so the CC app can connect to the Adobe servers (and check that your subscription is still valid) when you do have an internet connection. It will also check for updates, that you install through this app as well. If you don't have an internet connection the app will simply wait until you do have one again, unless you've been without a connection nearly one month. It will start giving you a daily warning some days before that happens.

I would uninstall both Lr and Ps and start again I were you.

I am not sure I will make a reinstall on both my PC and laptop before i am more sure.
Hve been through these steps: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-clou...
Before buying CC I had Lr6.3 and PsCS4.
1. Acording to Adobe it did not require uninstall.
2. I did the install as Adobe told.
3. I have a version of CCleaner running.
4. Adobe CC runs at start up.

As far as I can see, the Adobe help page you refer to is very helpful, but it doesn't say anything specificly about using Lightroom 6 (stand alone) before switching to CC. That's why I would uninstall Lightroom and then install it again from the CC app, just to make sure. It's not a big deal either. You won't lose your catalogs and if you've made presets you can copy these to a safe place before you run the uninstaller. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes or so. You don't have to uninstall Photoshop CS4. That is an old version that should not interfere with Photoshop CC in any way.

I tested these steps. Everything was OK.
But I tried to Logoff/login at Creative Cloud on my desktop.
Since I have had no problems. But time will show.
Maybe it is that simple?

On my laptop today was again with the trial image. Now I tried the same procedure.
Again only time will show.

It did'nt last long :-(
Today on my laptop i opened Lr - no problem.
I opened CC - then Ps line said try.
Opened Ps - the usual trial window, but it did nothing, but after a moment Ps started normally and i could work.
Still the trial window was open. I closed it at the X. Ps still worked.
I closed Ps.
Opened CC it said still trial.
After restart of Ps I got a login window requiring internet connection.

Now this on my desktop:

An hour ago in the same session I started Ps without problems.
(Prøv = Try in danish)
CC cannot be used without connection!! :-(

Ok, that does narrow it down to being CC problem rather than a Lightroom problem, which probably doesn't sound like a good thing, but means we can get it in front of the right engineers.

Have you at any time tried uninstalling it all, run the CC Cleaner tool, and then reinstalled?

No, reinstall will be the last to do - two computers!
Maybe it is best to reinstall my Lr 6.3 and CS4 for the journey
I am really annoyed at Adobe.

The Microsoft method?
And several people are sure it is the same problem on both computers?
Thanks and no more complaining.
Regards
Peter

Sometimes reinstalling is worth trying, even if it's not Microsoft. If you switch from 6.3 to CC, you may indeed have the same problem on both computers: some leftover of your 6.3 trial/license that interferes with the way the CC app works. A complete reinstall sounds much more serious than it is. It's not like you reinstall the entire OS...
