Hey All,

First time poster and a lurker on occasion. I am looking for an export function that is pretty simple. I am a Pro Photographer and I use Pictage as my lab and delivery vendor.

They have a great plug-in the uploads directly to their FTP site and it works great. I however want to create a plug-in that essentially, exports jpg files to a directory structure that is created by Keywords.

Essentially I label keywords with Pictage-Ceremony, Pictage-GettingReady... then I want to export it to a top level directory with these categories removing the Pictage- in front. The Pictage- is just the identifier that this is a keyword to convert to a directory instead of putting one picture in several directories.

I would think that this would have been done already but I can't seem to find it. Anyone know where I might get this or anyone interested in writing this plug-in. I have looked at the SDK and think in a few months I could put something together but it would suck cause I am just not that good of a programmer.

Thanks for the help.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum!

You could certainly drop Timothy Armes a PM, if he doesn't drop by here first. He's done a couple of really good plugins, so he might be up for it as a paid job, if nothing else.

Welcome, Dave.

The workaround I've suggested for this in the past involves using Folder Actions, which are only available on Macs. The idea is that you create a filename template that includes the folder identifiers, then use a Folder Action to automatically move files into the correct folder as they appear.

I don't know of a similar workaround for Windows. But you're right, the most straightforward way for either platform would be an Export Plugin that did it for you.

Tim Armes and Jeffrey Friedl are the Export Plugin wizards...
