HP 6980 Color Management issues

I recently updated to LR2 with no problems, all printing functions worked fine. Then I updated to LR2.2. Now I am unable to turn off printer color management on my HP 698' printer. I select "application Managed color" in the printer dialog box like I always did, but now when I close the box, the system reverts to color managed by the printer defaults and does not retain the "application managed color" selection. I have the LR prints settings correctly set for LR to manage the color.

If I go into the printer defaults and make "application managed color" the default setting for the printer, LR prints like in a plain paper mode with no color management.

The application managed color selection still works correctly with my other graphics programs, so this appears to be something new associated with LR 2.2.

Any suggestions?

Jim, I'd say first stop is LR2.3, currently available here.

My cheapo HP has always led me a merry chase on this subject. How are you accessing the the printer defaults from Lr, from the LeftHandPanel Page Setup, or from the RightHandPanel Print... ?

To answer your question, I tried to access the printer settings from both panels without any differences. However, in the process of trying to resolve the problem, I messed up my printer driver, so I completely deleted it and reinstalled it(same driver) and now the printer settings are retained the way they are supposed to be. Setting "application managed color" on the printer is retained once set, and the print settings from LR2.2 seem to be working ok.

Since my driver seemed to be working ok with everything else, I'm wondering if already having LR2.2 installed when I installed the driver had anything to do with fixing it?

Great! Lr vs. printer driver problems can be pretty mysterious, and are the source of a great deal of forum traffic.
