Hi
I process with LR and cs3, but catalogue with IDImager.
I just noticed that the thumbnails in IDI arent up to date because its using the raw preview which I havent manually updated in LR after processing.

IS the a way to make this happen automatically?
Is there a way I can set it to update the hundreds of images that need it (its painfully slow)?

Thanks, Dean

To my knowledge there is no way to update the preview image within the raw file. The image that is there is the one with the settings that the camera was set on when the picture was taken.

You can use DNG files and update the preview image inside but it's not possible with native RAW files, because Lightroom never changes the raw file itself.

Hi Guys

I should have mentioned that I'm using dng's.
You can actually do this - right click an image and under metadata select:
update dng previews.

Because it takes ages I wanted to know how to do this to an entire folder or catalogue so I can do it overnight or something.

Cheers, Dean

Note: Moved thread from Tips/Tricks forum, as this thread doesn't fit the criteria for that forum.

If you select multiple images in Grid View, the 'update DNG previews' will process all selected.

Hi Brad
I thought this too but couldnt get all the images to show. I then went to the root directory which did show them all and filtered for dngs.
I'll start it tonight when I leave the office - over 1'''' images will take awhile I imagine.
Cheers, Dean
