I'm exporting sets of images from Lightroom as layers in photoshop through the menu: Open as Layers in Photoshop...

Since I'm doing sets of 5 at a time and want to open about 25-30 sets, to have them all opened individually in PS, I keep having to switch back to LR to select the next 5 to export. Is there a way in PS to set it to only work in the background and not come to the front as the active app?

I found in the blog how to create a keystroke in LR to export these sets this way which really sped things up, keeping PS from becoming the active app would cut the time by another 50% at least.

If you want to know why I need this, I'm shooting these sets as focus bracketing images that will be part of a large format stitched image.

Thanks for any help!

I don't think that is possible.

If you select all of the focus sites at once then choose Open in PS, All of the images will open in a separate window in PS. Will that confuse you to know which set of 5 you need to focus stack?

I better focus stacking tool that I have found is Zerene Focus Stacker. Again all of the images get sent to Zerene and once there you get to shoes which ones to include in the stack. In Zerene, the intermediate images get sent as TIFFs and stored temporary files in working storage (/TEMP)

Thanks for the replies. I don't do focus stacking very often so I'll just trudge through with the sets (and be patient!)
