I notice that when looking at files and as theyre loading adjustmenst are made to them which If I hit \reset' will go away

I dont want LR to make these adjustments and thought I had set it not to but Imnot sure where the pref is that is causing it to do this

Can someone please tell me how to stop it doing this?

Thanks:D

IS, this doesn't exactly make sense. The only things that can change your photos from the default import state (which is what is restored/achieved by a 'reset') are adjustments that you've applied, either manually, or via presets. If you don't want any adjustments, then don't make them. :)

Two thoughts,
a) Verify that 'Apply auto tone adjustments is turned off in Edit > Preferences > Presets tab, top item.
b) Have you ever changed your default import settings? It's possible that photos were imported with one set of default settings, and if you've subsequently changed the import defaults, a reset would indeed change the photos. (This one's unlikely, tho')

No presets set for import - is that what you mean?

Im assuming there must be SOME pref smewhere that I havent set correctly

Same for LR 2.2 and 2.3

I feel I'm over my head here offering a suggestion after Brad, but what about "general zeroed" as an import setting? Would that do it?

I think you must either be applying a preset on Import which includes Auto Tone, or you must have updated Lightroom's defaults at some point. To fix the latter one, in the Preferences, under the Preset tab, press the "Reset all default Develop settings" button in the top section.

I did that - made no difference:shock:

Have you changed the camera default - Opt/Alt clicking the Reset button in Develop?

I didnt know you could do such a thing:|

Are you asking whether I have done this or suggesting that it is something I should do?

I was suggesting you had done it. But at least now you know how.

;) yes thanks for that

So...could the problem have anything to do with the camera profile settings? I just have it on the default Adobe Standard
