I find myself having to use Photoshop CS4 to rename my files if I want to start with a sequence number higher than ''1.

From time to time I process and hold photos and after I gather a batch of 1' or so I print sample sheets with sequential image numbers. I'd like to add a batch of new images with the next number in sequence so that they match properly with the pages already in my album.

For example, I'd like to rename DSC'777.jpg to Image Number 344.jpg and name the next file, which might be DSC1292.jpg, to Image Number 345.jpg and so on. Can I do that in Lightroom2? I don't think so, but it's easy in Photoshop.

Is this a request others would find useful?

If you have multiple images selected and bring up the rename dialog (F2 key), and choose a preset which include a sequence number, it should include a text box for you to enter the starting number. Is that not happening for you?

Duh............ How stupid of me. I was fooling around in the File Name Template Editor window, which gives the ability to make a template with a sequence number, but without the ability to specify a starting point. I realize now that this is NOT the place to name a starting point. Once the template is made and after the Template Editor box is closed, the starting sequence number box is now looking me right in the eye. These damned computers are the Devils work.

Thanks for your help and thanks for not rubbing it in .............. yet.
