How to sharpen multi-images in one-time via PS CS3?

How to sharpen multi-images in one-time via PS CS3?

Once competed all adjustment in LR2.', ans all images are acceptable, only one step left, which is Sharpen. My question is, is there any way to do the sharpen in PS3 under a batch?

Or just use the sharpening setting in Lightroom's Export dialog....

Hi clarkjin! Welcome to the forum.

Yet another option is to sharpen the first image then select the other and sync the sharpening settings from the first image to the rest.

you can automate it in PS CS3 but like someone else said, why not use the sharpen export diaglog in LR2.'. i'm no expert but it seems to work pretty good.

Yeah. It works as your said.

I think the sharpening in PS CS3 is better than in LR2.'. That's why I prefer to sharpen in PS.

Yes. It can be done in Export dialog. But I'd like to do it via PS.

As John says, why?

From what you are saying you are not wanting to do the sharpening on an image-by-image basis, with individual settings, but as a one-size-fits-all action.

Why? LR's sharpening is based on Pixel Genius's code, in Print and in Export, so it's amongst the best out there. You want to do it in batch - that's what LR is designed to simpligy. It can correct for the softness of a digital capture, add local sharpening for creative effect, and control the sharpness of the final output. So why batch it in Photoshop?

as far i know, (if u want to do it in PS) you'll need to 'edit your raw in PS' and then do the sharpening.

its possible to automate the whole thing too as follows...

do all your adjustments in LR. then export the photos you want as jpg's.
in PS set up a small little automation and go through the motions of the sharpening you want.

now automate your earlier exported photos from LR in PS.

i know i'm not super specific but if you want to do it like this i can post some directions tomorrow maybe. just let me know...

John, thanks for your prompt response ans detail explaination.

In fact, I had never tried the sharpening in LR, since the beginning of learning LR, with the Book of Scott Kelby's, he pointed out that sharpening effect in LR is not good enough. That's why everytime, I sharpen my picture in PS.

That may be true of LR1, but LR2 has output sharpening.

ok, here goes but be warned i'm no expert and the whole sharpening is another world of topics as i've discovered so if you want to get into detail this is not for you as its just basic but at least its automated :)
i'm using PS CS3 just in case things aren't exactly the same as your version.

open PS
click on 'window' at the top and choose 'actions'
open up ANY photo just for a test run
at the bottom of the actions window is a little 'record' button.
click on that (you are now recording an action so EVERYTHING you click on will b recorded.)
click on 'filter' at the top and choose sharpen
add your level of sharpening you want

your action is now recorded and you can push the 'stop' button on the bottom of the actions panel.

by playing around with the actions panel you can automate A LOT of your work which is great if your going to process hundreds of images.

i think the sharpening in PS is really good but the option in LR is adequate and its all automatic too, but maybe thats just me.
