How to reset LR2 database after bad import???

Hi,

I am experamenting with how best to get my image files into LR2.3 and figured I would give the process a shot...

I was just wondering what would be the best way to reset LR2 to clear out an import that didn't yeild the proper results so I can start from scratch???:shock:

I have all of my RAW files organized in folders under a single folder on an external eSATA HD. I am trying to figure out how to import the image data so that it ends up on the same external drive, organized in the same order and converted to DNG files...:?:

Any hints?

In the left panel of Library, select Previous import, select all those images, hit Delete and choose "Remove" taking care not choosing "Delete from Disk".

In the Import dialog box "File Handling:" section, choose "Copy photos as Digital Negative (DNG) and add to catalog". In "Copy to:" Choose the same external drive and a path. Here I suggest not mixing with originals. In the "Organize:" section, select "By Original Folders".

Or if there was nothing else in that catalog already, just start a fresh catalog and delete the old one.

The DNG question has been answered on your other thread, so that you can leave them in their existing locations but still convert to DNG.
